If you are using a tablet or your own smart device to receive orders there a few things you must do to ensure your device 'dings' when opening store.
The Skip Merchant Dashboard will function correctly if you have 'auto-lock' (found in settings) turned off. For the best experience please ensure no other apps are running simultaneously or in the background (eg. POS systems like Square or music apps such as Spotify). The Skip Merchant Dashboard works much like Youtube - when you exit the app or switch to another app, the Dashboard will no longer work.
If your device is not making sound you may want to try a few of the below troubleshooting techniques.
1. For Apple devices ensure the 'side switch' is set to silent and is switched 'off'
The Side switch can be used to mute sounds and alerts from your device or turn Rotation Lock on or off. To check your side switch is set to silent please follow these instructions here. Finally, ensure the volume is up in settings.
2. try closing or 'killing' the Skip Merchant Dashboard then re-opening it.

3. Perform a quick soft reset on your device

4. Ensure your device's software has been updated to the latest version
Both Android and Apple update their software frequently. When using an Android or Apple device please go to your settings, check for the latest software update and install. Once you have installed the update make sure you check back in your settings for another update. You may be more than one software update behind!
