For all the below changes to be made, go to the Menus tab and select Manage on Product Options.
Product Options allow you to customise your menu for customers to order exactly how they could in person and to ensure the right charges are applied to any modifications made. There are five types of product options that can be set up, below outlines how these can apply to your menu:
| Product Option | Use for: | Possible Set-up: |
| Single Selection: When customers can only select one option from each choice to customise the drink or food item | Milk options, syrups, flavour, coffee blend, strength, bread type, egg type | |
| Multi Selection: When customers can select multiple options to add (or remove), can set the minimum and maximum amount of options a customer can select and charge accordingly | Sandwich toppings, sauces, sides/extras | |
| Free Text: Give customers the ability to add a short note for that item only, provide a guide for what this could be - any adds or removals should be covered in other product option set ups. No additional charges can be included here | Cake decoration requests, highlight allergies/intolerances | |
| Checkbox: A singular change that can be made to the item, that is only Yes or No and does not come with any additional charges if a customer selects | BYO cup, extra hot (coffee), cream included | |
| Number: Allow customers to add multiples of a product option and charge for each one accordingly, and determine the minimum and maximum that can be ordered. This is aimed for larger orders and catering | Quantities of a side (e.g. eggs), pieces (e.g. sushi) within a platter, servings (per person) |
Create a Product Option Group
There are some items on your menu that will always have the same product options attached to them, for example a latte may have milk, sugar, blend and syrup choices that have all been set up as single selection options. To attach all of these options together to an item rather than individually, please see below how to create an option group and then how to apply it.
Go back to your main menu and select Assign Product Options top left, and assign to as many categories that apply to that option/option group.
Hit publish at the top of the menu before exiting for changes to go through.
