What is a consumer service fee?

A Service Fee may be charged for orders placed through your account on Skip and this will be displayed on the Order page prior to purchase.

You can see this referenced in our Terms & Conditions. The service fee is included for each order placed on Skip. (Note: this not a credit card surcharge—that's covered by us).

This helps us run our platform and provide related services. 

Why? You may ask.

We hear you. This service fee helps keep everything Skipping along in the background. It allows us to serve up the trusty Skip App on your home screen and provide your magical pre-order experience. Running the Skip platform and providing these related services, isn’t so magical, and does in fact come at a cost.

So why now?

The current climate has thrown an interesting spanner in the Skip works, we’ve been expanding our product offering and growing our resources to better service our family of merchants. With our fam of local merchants in mind, we had to keep commissions and fees for them the lowest humanly possible. We need to keep our doors open, in order for our merchants to continue serving through theirs.

You may notice that other platforms charge a small service fee for your orders, and this is no different.
